Phil Gordon
Born in 1970, Phil Gordon, originally from Texas, has recently taken up residence in Las Vegas, Nevada. He started playing poker at age 7 for pennies against his great aunt. His favorite poker game is pot-limit Omaha-Hi.
Phil Godon entered the World Series of Poker (WSOP) $10,000 no limit hold'em main event in 2001 and finished 4th, winning $400,000 and a spot on the Travel Channel documentary called "Inside the World Series of Poker."
He had two WSOP final table appearances at the 2002, and won the Pro Division of the World Poker Tour (WPT) inaugural tournament in Aruba, before losing to the amateur division's winner Juha Helppi. Gordon is a regular on the World Poker Tour. In March 2004, he knocked out two players at once, one being Chris Moneymaker, to win the WPT's "Bay 101 Shooting Stars" tournament.
Gordon was a child prodigy who graduated from college at age 20. He worked on artificial intelligence projects for the military and later cashed sold his technology company during the Internet stock bubble for $96 million. As of 2006, Gordon has monied in 16 tournaments and has winnings that exceed $1,000,000.
Gordon has authored “Phil Gordons Little Green Book” which is widely acclaimed as one of the better poker books ever written.
In July 2004, Gordon helped design Full Tilt Poker, where he can be found playing frequently. |
